One Step Closer....!

Caitlin is cruising across the room with her walker all of a sudden!  She loves the independence she has to be able to walk on her own.  Here are a couple videos of her learning to walk.  Way to go little one!!

Here are a few recent pictures of Caitlin. She is doing great! She's crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything! Her front two top teeth have popped through and are slowly growing in, and she's becoming very verbal lately....of course it's just baby babble but it's so cute to listen to!

Caitlin is 8 months old!

Caitlin turned 8 months old today. Wow, where has the past month gone? It feels like just yesterday that she was turning 7 months old. Everybody told me time would fly and she would grow up so quickly, and they were right! Caitlin had a nice day on her birthday. She spent some time over at Cici and Bear's and then she and I went for a swim! She still loves the water and it is so much fun to watch her play in it. As for new "baby stuff"....we've been working really hard on waving "hello" and "goodbye". I think she almost has it! O! And she has a new tooth! It's a top one, but not one of the front ones? I'm not sure if that's the order they're supposed to come in, so I'll have to ask my other mommy friends. Either way, it's a cute little tooth! O' the little milestones in a parents life!

Caitlin's Standing all the time now!

Caitlin started standing up on her own (with something to hold onto of course) a couple of weeks ago. She pulls up on whatever she can find and then stands there for as long as she can. She loves the independence she has now that she can both crawl and stand up!! It's so much fun watching her learn new things!

Lovin the pool!

Caitlin has been enjoying the summer so far. She loves going to the pool! She plays with the running water in the waterfall and splashes herself with water. On this day we decided to go with the Mohawk look (baby sunscreen works great as a gel!).

Caitlin Leigh O'Brien is 7 months old today!

Caitlin is 7 months old today. I can't believe it has already been 7 months since she was born. It feels like it was just yesterday that Tom was rushing me to the hospital (and getting pulled over for speeding...of course!). These past 7 months have been way more than I ever, ever imagined. Caitlin is so entertaining, and brings such joy to everyone she's around. It has been so much fun watching her little personality develop lately. She loves to laugh at silly faces or sounds (you can really get her going sometimes), and of course a good tickle always gets her giggling. As for physical changes, she still has just those two bottom teeth, but boy they are pretty! We still can't tell what color her eyes are....some days they're green, some days they're blue and other days they're green...blue...hazelish....but they're sure pretty! Most importantly, the Dr. saw her the other day and said she looks very healthy and very happy. Thank God for such blessings.

Woo Hoo! Look at her go!!! Caitlin took her first "crawls" this past Friday, and here she is a day later already scooting across the floor like she's been doing it for weeks. I have been working on the crawling for a little while now, but with the added help of Tom and Cici, Caitlin propped herself up and started moving! We are so proud of our little one. Of course this opens up a whole new chapter in parenthood....."baby is mobile!" No longer when we put her down does she stay in that spot. As a matter of fact, now when you put her down, all she wants to do is crawl around everywhere else but that spot. I am now learning that it is more important than ever to not leave anything on the floor that I don't want in her mouth.....like my shoes.....and the dogs' squeaky toys.....Oops!

4th of July!!

Fourth of July was a festive time this year! Caitlin had two outfits to celebrate Independence Day (she's quite the celebrator!) We went to lunch at the club with Cici and Bear and then enjoyed the pretty day. Caitlin's bedtime is still before dark, so she missed out on the fireworks this year, but next year should be lots of fun! We learned this year that Lantana is outside the city limits, so we can shoot fireworks off from our own back yard!
